Sometimes, we come across a job that’s a true pleasure for the senses…such is the case with Eastern Red Cedar. Recently, a customer removed a cedar which had overgrown its front porch location. With the tree gone, it was time for us to get our Guru on…and what a treat it was to grind that Lancaster County stump. The first thing to catch the eye was the stump, itself…glistening from a fine mist. At quick glance, it could have passed for a rare filet mignon that had just come off the grill! Next, the distinct aroma of cedar wafted through the air as we pulverized the stump into itty bitty pieces. The cherry on top (so to speak!) was the beauty of the reddish chips neatly spread out at the grinding site…a lovely site, indeed! I’ll admit to lingering at the site a bit more than usual to take in this goodness. With that, our day was done, but we look forward to our next Eastern Red Cedar stump grinding!
